US and Pakistani relations are changing, according to FM Bilawal

The reshaping of Pakistan and American relations, according to Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, is centred on expanding economic opportunities.

He claimed in an interview with MSNBC that the relations between Islamabad and Washington are improving thanks to frequent high-level interaction and bilateral talks.

According to the foreign minister, it is in the interests of both countries' citizens for the two countries to have a strong, long-term alliance.

FM According to Bilawal, terrorism used to dominate discussion between the two nations to the tune of 90% of all conversations. However, "90% of the debate at the time is about economic cooperation and other matters, including terrorism."

This is encouraging for relations between Pakistan and the US. It is impossible to change the past. The foreign minister stated, "We can connect with each other while having fair expectations and learn from the experience.

He stated that Pakistan has begun to develop a National Adaptation Plan for constructing resilience to climate change in response to recent floods and climate change.

According to the foreign minister, Pakistan needs to invest in energy transition, which calls for international cooperation, in order to become a climate-resilient nation.

He emphasised the necessity for adaptation, saying that it will help us be better prepared to deal with future disasters like the recent floods that have destroyed 10% of Pakistan's GDP in damages.
