Duty Magistrate Naveed Khan handed over PTI leader Fawad
Chaudhry to the police on 2-day physical remand while pronouncing a safe
verdict. The court ordered Fawad Chaudhry to appear again on January 27.
In the Duty Magistrate's Court, the police requested for
8-day physical remand, while Fawad Chaudhry and his lawyers opposed it. A case
has been registered against Fawad Chaudhry for threatening the Election
Commission.
Earlier, Fawad Chaudhry was medically examined by the doctors
of PIM's Cardiac Center. According to the sources, the doctors declared Fawad
Chaudhry healthy.
Earlier, a hearing was held in the Lahore High Court on the
petition filed against the arrest of PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry.
The High Court declared that the FIR against Fawad Chaudhry
was registered in Islamabad, therefore the Islamabad High Court has the
authority to dismiss the FIR.
Lahore High Court rejected Fawad Chaudhry's recovery
petition.
It should be noted that Fawad Chaudhry was arrested from his
house in Lahore early on Wednesday, after which he was remanded in custody by
the subordinate court.
