Twitter has Fired Several More Employees
Twitter, a social networking
service, has reduced the staff that oversees the platform's monitoring of hate
speech by firing several more individuals.
The monitoring of hostile
or harassing information on Twitter reportedly led to the firing of at least 12
employees, according to international media.
It should be mentioned
that Elon Musk, the world's richest man, sacked around 3,700 employees in
November after purchasing Twitter, while hundreds more submitted resignations.
The report states that
numerous individuals have also been let go from teams responsible for
developing guidelines for countering false information, international appeals,
and official Twitter accounts.
In an interview with a foreign news outlet, Ella Irwin, Twitter's vice president of trust and safety, revealed that certain employees in her division have been dismissed, but he did not go into further detail.
He said that the
Department of Trust and Safety employs thousands of people who work everyday in
content moderation, and no one has been let go for doing so.
Additionally, the
business was sued last month on the grounds that women were unfairly singled
out for termination.
A few days ago, Twitter
declared that it will no longer prohibit political advertisements on its site.
Twitter has announced
that it will run commercials that promote public discourse on significant
issues.
